The Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) will debut its first fashion week this November. The 4-day event is set up to boost textile, apparel and fashion design across ECOWAS countries and will create a platform for designers, manufacturers, sellers and buyers of African fabrics to liase and connect.

In the recent years the use of African fabrics such as Akosombo, Kente, Ankara, Akwete, Ama Serwaa, Bonsu and Tie and dye has surged with most making an appearance on London, Paris and Milan catwalks and this is what ECOWAS hopes to focus on at this year's main event.

With it's main headquarters based in Nigeria, ECOWAS consists of 15 countries namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

JMK Publicist teamed up with Ecowas Fashion Week to showcase Liberian designs. Mr. Collins was pick to be the representative of Liberia for this historic event.
