The Dance Centre’s popular Discover Dance! noon hour series leaps into a new season, with an exhilarating performance of African dance by Jacky Essombe. Born in Cameroon, Essombe is well known for her inspiring teaching and performances that express the cultural traditions and ancient rhythms of West and Central Africa. This interactive presentation features Essombe and her team of dancers and musicians in a program of high-energy dances, live drumming and singing that is steeped in the poetic imagery and wisdom of her ancestors, creating an experience to excite the eyes, engage the spirit and refresh the soul. There will be an artist talkback after the show.
