Thursday July 3rd, 2014 – New York, NY – LEAD Nigeria invites you to the 5th annual Nigerian Leadership Summit to be held on Saturday August 9th, 2014 at the Step Out center, New York NY.
The Nigerian Leadership Summit is a uniquely comprehensive annual event designed to connect Diaspora Nigerian professionals, academicians, entrepreneurs, people in government and friends from the international community to discuss about Nigeria’s present leadership issues and familiarize participants with the strategies needed in the partnerships required to deliver results that will trickle down to Nigerian’s at home for the economic growth of the country.
Over the years, the Nigerian Leadership Summit has established itself as an important forum for Diaspora Nigerian professionals, business leaders, entrepreneurs and policy makers to connect and exchange ideas about business and investment opportunities in Nigeria. The annual Nigerian Leadership Summit strives to provide a meaningful coverage and x-ray on current issues facing our nation and the roles Diaspora Nigerians can actively play in addressing the issues threatening the survival and development our democracy.
This year’s summit theme, titled: “Education and Security: A driving force for Africa’s socio-economic development” intends to highlight Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa as well as the complex issues still troubling our nation’s economy and development. This year’s summit will focus on how security challenges, broad knowledge, high level skills and educational innovation will make or break Nigeria’s global presence in the world and also highlight the role of intelligence gathering and the fight against corruption as active tools to fighting terrorism and the Boko Haram insurgency, as well as the high rate of kidnappings and militancy within and around the Niger-Delta region.
The Nigerian Leadership 2014 will focus on three key thematic areas;
Education and the Nigerian Child
Security and Extremism in Nigeria
2015 Nigerian General Elections
A special feature of the 5th annual Nigerian Leadership summit 2014 will be the event “A night of Excellence” closing dinner celebrating the “Nigerian Excellence Awards”. The Nigerian excellence awards will celebrate distinguished Nigerians who will be attending the summit programs from all walks of life who have excelled in their various professions and careers and are actively involved and engaged in promoting programs, projects and policies to better equip and empower youths and young people for development.
