4th Grader Wins Annual Poetry Finals Prize Reciting African Poem “Our Fathers Who We Become.”

A 4th grader Karsten Chima representing Air Base Elementary School Homestead Florida at the 39th Annual Theodore Gidbson Oratorical Competition finals at Miami Dade College - North Campus Florida, United States has won the 2015 Annual poetry finals prize by reciting the African poem, OUR FATHERS WHO WE BECOME written by Attorney/Poet Oliver O. Mbamara.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Guests and competitors arrived at the venue in time for the annual event. After welcome address and introductions by officials of the event, the competitors were then called on statge to perform their oratorical works. In the end the winners were announced and issued with their prizes. The event was attended by a mixed audience of people with various heritage and from all walks of life across the United States.
