Friends Africa at the Woodrow Wilson CenterFriends Africa in partnership with the Woodrow Wilson Center hosted a high level panel discussion to highlight the effectiveness and benefits that have accrued to Africa since the fund was established and the continuing need to have a fully funded Global Fund. Present at the event were H.E. Madame Jeannette Kagame, First Lady, Rwanda; Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mark Dybul Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Sessions were moderated by Friends Africa CEO, Dr Akudo Anyanwu Ikemba andSteve McDonald.
There were several high level dignitaries at the event which held on Monday, December 2nd at the Woodrow Wilson Center.
13 World AIDS Day Novelty Football MatchYes! We did it.
Friends Africa hosted its most successful anti-stigma and discrimination campaign on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 to commemorate World AIDS Day. There were over 2000 people present at the event; over 3000 people were tested from November 25th - 30th and it was fun all the way as Team Eagles played against Team Entertainers with a dazzling score of 6:0 in favor of Team Eagles.
