New York: The
Umunachi Community Association, USA recently held their Annual Summer Picnic
in New York. As expected, the turn out was
quite impressive as members, friends,
and families gathered to have some casual time of fun and relaxation
away from work and other formal engagements. Below are some

HOW
IT HAPPENED:
The picnic started in earnest about 10AM and lasted 7:00PM.
It was a bright sunny day and as the sun cast its early shine, warmth
and rays, the first batch of picnickers began to arrive as early as 10AM.
The early attendees wasted no time in kicking things off with some music
and snack beverages. Others
joined as the day progressed and many treated themselves to barbecue, drinks, and other refreshments. Others engaged in
games and other picnic activities such as soccer, volleyball, and more.
while others sat and engaged themselves in cheerful jokes and conversations.
African picnic events afford the younger generation of Africans the much
needed opportunity to mingle. Sometimes, such event marks the only time
children and youth from African communities get to mingle and know each
other as well as learn about their people. This event succeeded in that
regard as the elders organized a number of sporting activities that
enabled the youngsters mingle and get to play with and know each other
the more. It was a successful picnic event.
