New York: The Ugiri Progressive Community Inc
recently held its Annual Fund Raising Party for the year 2007. The
event was attended by indigenes of Ugiri community from around the
United States. Also in attendance were Ugiri community friends,
relatives, and well wishers. As usual,
our staff was there to bring you exclusive pictures from the event.

HOW
IT HAPPENED:
The event commenced in earnest with the arrival of hosts and guests at
the venue. DJ Paul entertained the audience with music as arriving
guests exchanged greetings and settled down for the evening's
event. With the assistance of MC, Frank Ekeigwe , the event
Chairman, Chief C. Y. Njoku and Ugiri Community Inc Patron, Chief
Innocent Njoku led the opening ceremonies including opening prayers,
presentation of kola nuts, recognition of dignitaries and distinguished
guests, welcome remarks by UPCI President, Dr. Livinus Obilo, and
opening remarks by the Chairman. Food was served and the dance floor was
opened in time for early grooving as guests were entertained by the
music of DJ Paul. After all that, the Chairman called the attention of
all attendees to the main event of the night - the Annual Fund Raising
program. He opened the session with a generous donation and others
followed accordingly. The Annual Fund Raising event is held for the
benefit of rebuilding Schools in the Ugiri community in Nigeria, West
Africa. The night was also filled with cultural entertainment including
the women's dance presentation and an exciting African fashion
parade organized by Chief (Mrs.) Akujuo, featuring the African designs
of Lolo Peace and Patricia Ochiagha. After all the items on the program
have been accomplished, attendees continued to rock to the Music of DJ
Paul well into the morning hours.
