HOW IT HAPPENED: African Artists from as far as North Carolina, Philadelphia, Maryland, New Jersey, and other parts of the tri-state area arrived early at audition venue - Abron Center, Manhattan, New York. Some attendees took advantage of the welfare services courtesy of UAA Artist Support Group membership table - Refreshment and information. Among other items on display were Books, tapes, and CD releases of some UAA Artists supported productions. Outstanding was the latest UAA Audio CD release - "Ayolam" by Sir. Dr. Foreigner, and artists based in Nigeria. After initial preparations and prep-comments, the audition commenced. Various artists auditioned with the encouragement of the Audition team. At the end, callback slips were handed out to some artists. Most of the attendees were assured that they will receive further information from the joint secretariat of UAA and AFC. One of the main purposes of United African Artists Incorporated is to - To support the development of African Artistic culture and heritage in the Diaspora, home, or abroad. That purpose was significantly attained by the audition and will be further achieved by the production of both films - "This America" and "The Last African Virgin."
