Otunba Tai balofin, Publisher of US African Eye bags Award TAI BALOFIN BAGS INTERNATIONAL AWARD

Prominent New York Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of the Us African Eye, Otunba Dr Tai Balofin has been honored with international award by Bonafide. Balofin was presented with the International Editor of the year for his outstanding performance in journalism. The award was presented on January 16th 2005

Balofin started as a broadcaster with Ondo State Broadcasting Corporation OSBC.

He reads the news in English, Yoruba and Hausa with every morning chit -chat program and sometimes Ewi rendition. He later moved on to The Nigerian Television Authority NTA as a newscaster.

He attended schools at St. Michaels School, Constitution Road Kaduna, Capital School Kaduna, and And Anglican Grammar school Igbara Oke. Certified building Manager by (HPD). Department of Housing preservation and development 

Balofin obtains B.sc degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, Masters and PhD at the La Salle University, Louisiana. He was an adjunct Professor of Business at the college of New Rochelle, Rosa park Campus, New York. Balofin is the publisher of the US AFRICAN EYE and presenter/promoter of African Music Awards. He was crowned as the Otunba Boroji of Ikeji Ile Ijesha by his Royal Highness Oba Adebayo Ogunmokun, the Akeji of Ikeji Ile-Ijesha, for his contribution and selfless service to the community. He was honored with a chieftaincy title of Are of Iropora Ekiti. He is a Senior Evangelist of the Celestial Church of Christ.

Otunba Tai Balofin demonstrated his love for Nigeria by attempting to do something about the leadership vacuum in the country and the continuing betrayal of the people; he boldly stepped into the race for the Governorship of Ondo State in the last election in Nigeria. He believes in democracy and democracy only as the political philosophy for Nigeria and would not compromise its principle under any circumstances. 

Otunba Tai Balofin is the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP-USA) New York Branch. He led the New York Delegates to the PDP Congress held in New York, December 2000. He was one of the Foreign Chapter delegates to the PDP’s Abuja National Convention held March 2001, and attended the PDP Leadership Congress in Houston, Texas in June 2001. He is a major draftsman of the PDP’s ideals and supporter of President Olusegun Obasanjo in the United States of America.

Otunba Tai Balofin ran for Governor in Ondo state in 1999, at the Primary level with the hope to bring a wealth of knowledge in democracy and public management to the State. He is a selfless and compassionate leader, who will serve the interests of the people first. As a member of the PDP in Ondo State, he was an Aspirant for the Governorship of the State in the 2003 gubernatorial election. He believes in strengthening and empowering the youth as our hope for a great future in Nigeria. 

He has an Excellent organizational and management skills. Balofin Speaks 12 languages. He is a free mixer. His writings are very lucid and pungent.
