Lagos, Nigeria West Africa: Seun Anikulapo-Kuti recently had a
debut in Victoria Island Lagos and gave an outstanding and
near-perfect performance during the show that drew the likes of Nobel
laureate Wole Soyinka and renowned photographer Don Barber to
Victoria Island’s Terra Kulture. Inheriting his father’s looks and
band Egypt 80, Seun gave the very diverse audience an opening treat by
performing some of Fela’s classics as well as tracks from his Many

ABOUT THE EVENT: ‘I didn’t know he
was so tall’ and ‘It’s like watching Fela again’, were the kinds of
comments heard from the crowd that had gathered to watched Seun Kuti
perform on home soil in Nigeria. Seun Anikulapo-Kuti is gradually
exceeding the expectations of Afro-beat music lovers’ by stepping
completely into his father’ Afro-beat shoes. He gave an outstanding and
near-perfect performance in Victoria Island’s Terra Kulture that drew
the likes of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka and renowned photographer Don
Barber. Inheriting his father’s looks and band Egypt 80, Seun gave the
very diverse audience an opening treat by performing some of Fela’s
classics as well as tracks from his Many Things album such as Think
Afrika, Fire Dance, Na Oil & Mosquito Song. The show, which will
continue at Terra Kulture every 2nd Saturday of the month, was organized
by Africa-Related Ltd. in collaboration with Egyp80 Records and
supported by Wazobia & Cool FM Lagos, Sound City Television, Moet
Hennesy.
