Sam Ulu Onwuka is from Nigeria, West Africa. After graduating with diploma from the University of Calabar Nigeria and the Osondu Fashion Institute Nigeria, he established his own fashion designing outfit/training center known as (Samkad International Tailors) while simultaneously engaging in arts, writing, and stage/theater performances.” He later established his own movie production/entertainment company in Nigeria know as (SAMNET PRODUCTIONS) and moved to Lagos Nigeria where he made several scores of award winning films to his credit as a producer, actor and writer with movies like Wounded Apple, Breaking Of Sister Margaret, Black Powder, Red Matchet, Cover Pot, Area Scatter, Swimming With Sharks, Stubborn Grasshopper, The Richest Man etc,
Sam has established himself as a successful producer whose films have made great impact in the movie industry. Aside from his successful movie making career, he has also demonstrated extensive talent in fashion designing as he costumed some of his movies and won the Best Costumier of the year 2000 in The Fame Magazine Movies Award "Thema2000".
For the promotion of the Showbiz/Entertainment in Nigeria he affiliated with some prominent social/voluntary organizations and professional associations in the following areas:
· Executive member of the Association of Movie Producers Nigeria.
· Executive member of the Drama Unit, Calabar cultural center board (rated as one of the best Cultural Center in West Africa)
· Honorary Member of the Superior Police Officer’s Mess Owerri (The Nigeria Police Force.)
· Superior Officer of the Boy’s Brigade of Nigeria, Captain / Founder-The 2nd Calabar Company (Boy’s Brigade of Nigeria) P.C.N Garden Ave Calaber.
In addition to his achievements in the African Entertainment Industry, Sam has contributed immensely toward the rapid growth of the Nigeria movie Industry which is now rated as "The third successful movie making Industry around the Globe" as over Ten successful movie Actor/Actresses, Producers, Directors, D.O.Ps, Writer, Marketers, etc, has made their debut in the movie industry through him and his production company (SamNet Productions),
Sam was the producer that Started the advanced Movie making in Calabar and Owerri province, also through his effort The Artist Guild of Nigeria (A.G.N.) was, Inaugurated in Owerri to grant the up-coming/New Artist an opportunity to enroll and become eligible to take parts in movies according the (A.G.N) constitution. He financially sponsored the enrollment of some less privileged artists. With such great support by Sam, the Artist number of (A.G.N) Owerri chapter grew rapidly, now Owerri is one of the major movie making cities in Nigeria.
Due to his great passion in global standard movie making and to attain the greatest height in movie making, he later moved to the United States were the film business still has no competitor. Shortly after arriving in the United States, while waiting for the right time for his first movie production in the United States, he established an exotic fashion designing outfit in conjunction with the House of Laces (the biggest African Fabrics and Laces Dealer) at the University Boulevard, Maryland USA. He simultaneously takes a building construction/general contractors training with a construction company known as COMMUNITY INVEST CONSTRUCTION Inc. He has been qualified and certified as a General Building Contractor, he is now working as CEO/Construction co-coordinator with his own construction company known as NATIONAL REMODELING Inc, serving Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia.
Sam is currently in the pre-production stages of his up-coming dream feature Film Production titled "PARTY IN THE SEA", touring around the United States searching for suitable locations, artists and other necessary logistics required for the up-coming feature Film Production.
