LCC BOOSTS LIBERIA ELECTORAL PROCESS, PROVIDE AWARENESS AIDE -

As Liberians anxiously await the successful holding of democratic elections following numbers of conflicts, a local GSM company, the Lone Star Communications Corporation has made available promotional bill boards in order to supplement the efforts of the Liberian Elections Commission (NEC) in its drive to create more awareness.
The Lone Star Communication Corporation’s self-initiative to have partnership with the NEC during this process has been greatly admired and lauded by Liberians, the electorates, even including those who are opting for profile position in the coming elections; as they take a look at these giant size bill boards depicting slogans on how to vote right during the elections are being erected at strategic places in the in county, designed by this multi-million dollars GSM company.
Despite this recent initiative, Liberians and foreign residents have considered the Lone Star Communications Corporation as the Hallmark of GSM technology in the country, “Lone Star Communications is indeed the Hallmark of GSM in the country, we never knew about this modern technology until this company came to Liberia few years ago. We are proud of this company”, a topical Liberian market woman told this writer.
The significance of this exercise, according to sources closed to the Lone star Communication Corporation in Monrovia, is to adequately inform and educate the Liberian electorates on the upcoming general and presidential elections scheduled for October 11, 2005, who over the years were victimized due to bad governance and other vices inimical to the Liberian people.
During a survey conducted by this writer, many who spoke this writer expressed their gratitude to this GSM company and pray that other GSM companies in the country will follow its “good example”.
Lone star Communications Corporation since its establishment few years ago has drastically helped to reduce the high rate of unemployment in Liberia, with over 98% of its workforce being Liberians, “This company as compare to other GSM companies is doing well by helping Liberians to realize their importance. It is not only interested in the return of its capital investment but rather providing humanitarian assistance to Liberians”, Amos Daniels a taxi driver in a chat with this writer stressed.
Prior to the existence of Lone Star Communication Corporation , Liberia was doomed in this modern technology, GSM Technology, the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) which was the only way to communicate to the outside world was damaged due to series of was and other disorder in the country, this left vacuum in the nation’s telecommunication.
