HOW IT HAPPENED: The "bowl" of the 21st floor of the Nigerian house in Manhattan wore a transformed look as guests arrived and took their seats. The place looked like a mega runway set up waiting for action. Ola Ogunkoya and his dance troupe opened the evening with an energetic African cultural performance reminiscent of the popular "palm-wine clubs" jamboree in most Nigerian Universities of then. The MC, Maureen Umeh of Fox News welcomed guests and the national anthems of Nigeria and the United States of America were rendered. This was followed by the presentation of kola-nut.  It was then fashion galore all the way. Beautiful models of varying appeal strolled down the runway showcasing different wears and styles of Regine Promotions. There was a break in the fashion parade as guests were treated to a mixture of other activities such as Comedy by Away Away, a brief speech by Ambassador Aminu Wali, poetry, hip-pop performance, and more traditional performances by Ola Ogunkoya and company. After guests have had some drinks while food was being awaited, the second half of the show commenced and was later followed by the presentation of awards to recipients including Bethels Agomuoh of United African Artists, the Nigerian Nurses Association, and Maureen Umeh of Fox News. Filmmaker, freelance Writer, and Publisher, Oliver Mbamara Esq., then delivered an open paper titled,  "Answering The African Call." Mr. Akande who represented the special guest of honor, Dr. M.B. Marwa spoke and made a presentation on behalf of Dr. Marwa. A few other guests took the podium and made some presentations also. Food finally arrived and those who waited behind helped themselves to the late abundance.
