The Nigerian Lawyers Association of USA Swearing-in ceremony - March 2010

The Nigerians Lawyers Association of USA recently swore in newly elected members of her Executive Council and Board Members to steer the affairs of the Association for the year 2010. Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, the newly sworn-in President Folake Ayola, Esq., gave a heart warming address, and called on members of the Association to rally round the administration to propel the association forward in the year ahead.  Here below are some pictures from the event courtesy NLA.

OATH OF OFFICE: The officiating Judge Hon. Debra A. James, administers the oath of office to some incoming officers. The officers include: Folake Ayoola, President, Abayomi O. Ajaiyeoba, Vice President, Oladiran Ajayi, Secretary, Alozie Etufugh, Public Relations Officer, Chisom Ananaba, Parliamentarian and Acting Treasurer


HOW IT HAPPENED: The event commenced with the arrival and sitting of officers, guests, and other members of the association. Bathabile Mthombeni who moderated the ceremony then introduced the officiating team including officiating Judge - Honourable Debra A. James. Outgoing President, Emeka Chinwuba gave a brief speech, and Bathabile then called upon the Officers and Directors to approach the podium. The swearing-in was then conducted by officiating Judge after which the new president delivered her inauguration speech. Attendees were then invited to treat themselves to the generous refreshment available. Vote of thanks was delivered by the incoming Vice President, Abayomi O. Ajaiyeoba. Attendees spent the rest of the evening freely interacting.
