Nigerian Lawyers Association Immigration Seminar & Annual Elections, Nov. 15, 2003

The Nigerian Lawyers Association of USA, held an Immigration Seminar at Fordham University in Manhattan New York. The event was followed by the NLA Annual General Elections. Our man, Oliver Mbamara, Esq. was there to bring you the coverage of the events enhanced with great photo shots as usual.

COUNTING THE VOTES:  Election Committee's Yewande Odia, Esq., (center) counts the votes while Chinedu Ezetah, Esq., records the scores witnessed by the various representatives of each contesting candidate.


HOW IT HAPPENED: The day started with the Immigration Seminar featuring two able panelists/speakers - Joseph Rotimi Famuyide, Esq., who spoke on immigration matters, "Representing An Arriving Alien Seeking Asylum In Immigration Court," and Ms. Mona Shah, who spoke on "Labor Certification." The seminar was attended by a mixture of African and American lawyers earning 2.5 (Two and a half) CLE points.

At the end of the seminar, the day's program proceeded with the annual NLA General elections. When it was over, the following officers were elected -  Board Members: Emeka Nwokoro, Kelechi Amasike, and Shamsey Oloko 

Executive Officers: Ben Okeke (President), Theo Ogune (Vice President), Diji Olugbodi (Treasurer), Oliver Mbamara (PRO), and Patrick Okeke (Parliamentarian).
