Nigerian Independence Parade and celebrations 2007 in New York |

New
York, New York: The Nigerian Independence celebrations was held around
the world (both at home and abroad). In New York it was a celebration of
pride, unity and hope. Characterized by various display of fanfare and
flamboyant costumes, the event filled many parts of New York City with
Nigeria's traditional color - green, white, green. Exclusive

HOW
IT HAPPENED: Several blocks of the street were closed down as
marshals and dignitaries including Diplomatic officials marched down the
street en-route the 44th street stage where various groups performed. The
event witnessed a record crowd attendance and even after the formal events
such as the parade, speeches and performances were over, attendees stayed
around to interact and revel in the beauty and joy of the green, white,
green. Congratulations Nigeria! |
