York, New York: The Nigerian Lawyers Association, USA recently held
its annual Merit Award Dinner at the Crown Plaza, New York. The
Association honored Professor Chinua Achebe as the 2005 recipient of the
Association's Merit Award. Our staff was there to cover
the event and bring you exclusive photo-shots as usual.

Chairman of the NLA Board presents the award to Professor Chinua Achebe
at the occasion.
The
event was attended by Lawyers and dignitaries around New York and
beyond. Apart from Professor Chinua Achebe who bagged the Association's
Annual Award this year, there were other dignitaries in attendance such
as Professor Ibrahim Gambari and former Attorney General and Senior
Advocate of Nigeria Chike Ofodile. The event started with a cocktail
hour and then moved to the award program proper which included Dinner
followed by Dancing.
