York: The Mbano Community in New York recently held an award
dinner event during which they recognized the outstanding works and
attainments of some individuals in humanitarian and leadership
regards. Our staff was there
to bring you exclusive photo-coverage.

HOW
IT HAPPENED: The event started with the arrival of guests
including the guest of honor - the Consul General of Nigeria, Alhaji
Auwalu Ibrahim. After some distinguished guests were invited to the high
table by the MC, Jude Okoroji, opening prayers were held followed by the
presentation of kola nuts. A few speeches were made and the awards were
handed out with the Consul General of Nigeria presenting. This was
followed by Dinner after which the floor was opened for free style
dancing with DJ Paul proving the music. The Mbano women entertained the
audience with their traditional dance before the party continued till
early hours of the morning with more music and dancing.
