Traditional Wedding of Jennifer Akudo Oguzie and Ajuziogu Obinna Warrior at Owerri, 2007

Owerri Nigeria, West Africa: Recently, the families of Oguzie of Emeabiam, Owerri West and Obinna Warrior of Umuhu Enyioguigu Mbaise witnessed the traditional wedding ceremony of their daughter Jennifer Akudo and their son, Ajuzieogu Obinna. The event took place at Umuika Emeabiam Community School. Exclusive pictures by our Nigerian Correspondent.

GUESTS: A cross section of guests in attendance.

HOW IT HAPPENED :

It was a bright cheerful day as guests, friends and relatives of the celebrants arrived and took their seats. Many came from Owerri, Mbaise, other parts of Nigeria, the United States, England, Europe, and more. While the guests waited for the appearance of the bride and groom, they were entertained by the Oriental brothers international band to which the groom (Ajuzieogu) belonged. After the limo arrival of the bride and groom, the MC invited some dignitaries to the high table. Traditional protocols like the presentation of kola nuts and opening prayers were observed. The bride and groom then appeared to a tumultuous welcome. The traditional protocols including the symbolic finding of the groom by the bride took place. The bride and groom later retreated and appeared again in a different traditional regalia.  They danced and were showered with notes by friends, relatives, and well wishers. It was then drink, food, cake, and society partying galore as guest danced and celebrated well into the night.
