DC: The Foreign Investment Network, a UK based Investment Consulting and Publishing Company in collaboration with Global Trusted Alliances LLC USA, recently held the 4th edition 2007 of the International Business Women Conference at Washington DC. The conference had in attendance Business Women and Entrepreneurs from across the globe who exchanged ideas on diverse issues that affects Women Businesses. The conference which lasted from 1st - 4th November 2007 at Key Bridge Marriott Hotel, Washington DC, USA also attracted key resource persons and government officials from Africa, Asia and the United States. The Conference theme reflected on the benefits of collaboration, networking and matchmaking as important issues in sustaining women businesses. It also highlighted the enormous contributions of women owned businesses to national economies.

THE EVENT: At the event, FIN Award of Excellence was presented to some women Entrepreneurs and Organizations who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields. The awardees include Mrs. Modupe Adelaja, Director General, of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency Nigeria [SMEDAN] who got the award for her role in stimulating the small and medium enterprises in Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, Managing Director of Oceanic Bank for pioneering banking excellence Sarah E.Moten,Ed.D,. Chief, Africa Bureau, Office of Sustainable Development, Education Division US . Agency for International Development USAID, Chief Temitope labinjo-Ajayi President, of NCF Investment Inc. for her role in Promoting and Encouraging Foreign Investments in Nigeria in support for economic growth in the country, Charlotte M.Ponticelli Deputy Undersecretary for International Affairs. U.S Department of Labor Bureau of International Labor Affairs, Mazie Green Holland for her Humanitarian projects, Madame Zhou Yinmei Chairman Changzhou Evergreen Group a multimillion dollar Company and Ms Noma Mbeki from South Africa for her numerous people oriented projects in South Africa
