Afro Heritage Venture Informational, Educational and Cultural Outreach Program in the Bronx

Afro Heritage Venture Organization recently held an Informational, educational and cultural outreach program in the Bronx Community. Report By Olutosin Mustapha.

Afro Heritage Venture, a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization committed to improving educational and cultural services in New York City, in conjuction with African Women Alliance for Progress, Inc., organized an Informational, Educational and Cultural outreach in the Bronx community (Crotona Park) on August 4th, 2007. 

 

Members of the community were presented with vital information for the children, youth , families and senior citizens such as information on education UPK( Universal Pre-Kindergaten),Use of Public libraries in the neighborhood, Out-Of-School Time (OST) programs and vital information on Fire safety in their residences.

REPORT by Olutosin Mustapha There had been many Fire disasters in NYC especially in the Bronx community lately so Afro Heritage Venture, a not for profit organization, initiated and organized for the New York City Fire Department to reach out to the community on preventing Fire disaster at home. 

The members of community were given many free gifts such as T-shirts, pens, rulers with metric system, card-holders from New York City Department of Youth and Community Development; Red hard hats for kids, pencils, pens, wrist-bands for the youth, coloring books on Fire safety, publications on vital information on Fire disaster prevention for senior citizens and the entire family from New York City Fire Department; Kitchen utensils, shopping bags, educational comics, pencils and publications on Energy-saving at home from Con Edison.
